Retired Lieutenant General Sillas Mayunga (71) (left in the picture) died yesterday in India where he was receiving some treatments. General Mayunga was once in 1970s a Brigade commander of 202 base Tabora and it was during that time Tabora prospered in football. One of his legacy was the formulation of a team that was known as VITA YA TABORA which was owned by the Defence force.
the late Mayunga was very popular in Tabora because he was very social and he used to attend various footbal matches at the Uwanja wa Vita. He will definately be remembered by all Tabora soccer fans.
