THE government has signed 443.25bn/- deals with different Chinese contractors to carry out the construction of Nzega-Tabora, Tabora-Urambo and Tabora-Nyahua roads to a tarmac level.
The Minister for transport, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe, told the National Assembly on Tuesday that the seven projects will be financed by the government. He was responding to a question by Ismail Aden Rage (Tabora Urban-CCM), who had wanted to know the government’s resolve to improve road network in the region. He mentioned the roads as Nzega-Puge (56.1km) that is being undertaken by China Communications Construction Co.Ltd. He said the project will cost some 66.36bn/- and it will be ready in 27 months.
