Katika gazeti la leo la mwananchi kuna habari ambayo imekuwa ni ya kipekee na iliyovuta wengi ikiwemo vyombo mbalimbali vya habari hasa redio. Radio karibu zote zinazofanya mapitio ya magazeti wameisoma habari hii……… inasema hapa bonge asilimia 86 wanakunywa pombe za kienyeji kama wanzuki, rubisi, mbege, dadii, choya, moonshine, banana na gongo wakati ni asilimia 10 tu wanaokunywa bia na asilimia moja wanakunywa mvinyo wa viwandani, huku asilimia tatu wakinywa pombe nyingine kali zilizotengenezwa viwandani.

Kwa mchanganuo huo, wanaokunywa pombe za viwandani ni asilimia 14 tu ya wanywaji wote.

imekaririwa pia kuwa baadhi ya pombe huchanganywa na vilevi vyenye hatari kiafya kwa mfano anasema, methanol, ethanol au furfural inapozidi husababisha upofu na haitakiwi kunywewa na binadamu. Kwa kawaida pombe za kienyeji hutengenezwa kwa kusindika nafaka, na nafaka hizo zinapochachushwa hutengeneza vilevi(alcohol).

Imefahamika pia kuwa kiwango cha ‘alcohol’ hicho kimetofautiana kulingana na aina ya nafaka iliyotumika, kiwango cha joto kilichotumika kusindika na muda uliotumika kuchachusha pombe hiyo.

Habari hii inaikumbusha uyui eneo moja kule Tabora maneo ya chemchem mtaa wa Salmini ambako kulikuwa na Kilabu cha pombe kilichoitwa Kachoma na kule mitaa ya ng’ambo kama unaenda Tabora girls kulikuwa na vilabu lukuki vya pombe cha mateka wima na machwala. kwa sasa vilabu hivi havipo na kwa kweli pombe haifai kwani faida zake ni kidogo na hasara zake ni nyingi.
