Serikali ya Kuwait imeahidi kuipatia Tanzania mkopo wenye masharti nafuu wa dola za Kimarekani Milioni 34 kwa ajili ya ujenzi wa barabara yenye urefu wa Kilometa 85 kwa kiwango cha lami kutoka eneo la Chaya hadi Nyahua mkoani Tabora.

Mwakilishi wa Balozi wa Kuwait hapa nchini, Bw. Mohammad Rashid Alamiri, aliyeongoza ujumbe kutoka Mfuko wa Maendeleo wa Kuwait, amebainisha hayo jana wakati yeye na ujumbe wake alipomtembelea na kufanya mazungumzo Waziri wa Fedha na Mipango, Dkt. Philip Mpango, kuhusu masuala mbalimbali ya ushirikiano wa kiuchumi na kijamii kati ya Tanzania na Kuwait.

Dkt. Mpango ameushukuru Mfuko wa Maendeleo wa Kuwait (Kuwait Fund) kwa kuipatia Tanzania mkopo wenye masharti nafuu utakaochochea maendeleo kwa Watanzania hususani wanaoishi maeneo hayo kutokana na umuhimu wa barabara katika kukuza uchumi wa Taifa.

Amesema kuwa kipande hicho cha barabara kutoka Chaya hadi Nyahua, ambacho kiko Barabara Kuu itokayo Dar es salaam kwenda katika mikoa ya Tabora na Kigoma, licha ya umuhimu wake katika kukuza biashara na usafiri na usafirishaji wa abiria na mizigo ikiwemo inayokwenda nchi jirani, ilikuwa haijapata fedha kwa ajili ya ujenzi wake.

“Nawahakikishia kuwa baada ya muda si mrefu wananchi wa mikoa ya Tabora na Kigoma watarajie kuona mkandarasi akiingia kazini ili kujenga barabara hii muhimu sana kwao na kwa uchumi wa Taifa kwa ujumla” Alisisitiza Dkt. Mpango.

Ameeleza kuwa ujenzi wa kipande cha barabara hiyo kutoka Chaya hadi Nyahua  unatarajia kugharimu shilingi Bilioni 61 lakini Kuwait haitatoa fedha zote hivyo ameuomba Mfuko huo uangalie uwezekano wa kutoa kiasi hicho chote cha fedha  ili uweze kukamilika mapema.

It’s the second year in a row the North Pole ― now in perpetual darkness after saying goodbye to the sun in late October ― has seen abnormally high temperatures around the Christmas holiday. Tabora Girls Secondary School: 1928 A Princess School that Turned into Alumni of Giants Ladies in The Country

Tabora Girls Secondary School (Popularly Girl School) is one the oldest school with great history.

The school was founded by British Colonial rulers in 1928 and it started as a primary school, by the name of the African Girls School. The schools was dedicated to daughter of the Chiefs before it made open for all girls. In 1957, the school was granted the status of secondary girls where in 1972 started to enroll students with special needs, including with albinism and students with visually impairment.

The school has produced best qualified professionals in the fields of Law, Medicine, Engineering, and Teaching and even in politics. Among the leaders attending a school that includes the former first lady of the IV Phase Government and a Chairman of the Global Equity for All (EOTF), Hon Mama Anna Mkapa, Hon Dr. Getrude Mongela (Former MP and President of the Pan African Parliament). Hon Mongela was Secretary General of the very historical (Beijing Conference, 1995) Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace was the name given for a conference convened by the United Nations during 4–15 September 1995 in Beijing, China.

‎Others are; Urambo Member of Parliament Hon Margareth Sitta (Former Tabora Girls Teacher) and Ambassador Dr. Batilda Salha Buriani who has served a number of portfolio including The Minister of State, Office of the Vice President’s Office (Environment) and Chief Whip. The late Cellina Kombani (Min of State, Presidents Office), Mama Anna Abdallah (Former Minister of Health in the III Phase Government) and Professor Joyce Ndalichako, the current Minister of Education in the V Phase Government)

Tabora Girls alumni is long, it also include Justice Julie Manning retired judge, Supreme Court Justice, Eusebia Munuo and the former Director of the International Labour Organisation (UN Habitat), and Professor Anna Tibaijuka (Served as Minister of Land and Settlement in the IV Phase Government).

Tabora: A Town Whose Economy Depends on Railways, With Standard Gauge In Pipeline, There Will be an Economic Boom

THE glory days are coming back to Tabora as the Minister for Works, Hon Prof Makame Mbarawa ( MP) announced that the country plans to initiate work on a standard gauge railway (SGR) line which will link Tanzania with its neighboring East African countries along the Central Corridor which includes Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda’s Dar es Salaam Port. (Railway Africa News).

In Tabora, Railways is more than an infrastructure. Residents of Tabora have benefited from the Rail in many ways including employment. Railways it created vast of employments opportunities ranges from technical, professional (Railways College), Office work and operational especially to those who works in sub-stations (gangs).

During those old good days, rail as a gateway to trade and business facilitated transactions and exchange between Tabora and Regions such as Mwanza, Kigoma, Mpanda and the Central Corridor a network that increased supply of goods and services thereby prices become low and life was affordable.  It was not surprised to have fresh fish and dagaa from Mwanza and Kigoma early in the morning at the Market. Palm Oil and Banana are some of the food items that were available at affordable prices.

Things changed to the worse some years back the routes of train started to decline thereby created shortages in the supply and increase in prices. life were not the same as it was used. With this new development the old days are coming back. That is what we anticipate and pray for.
